I will be the first person to admit that, despite having some awesome cookbooks, and a chef for a husband, I very rarely actually “follow” a recipe. Sure, I might look at a cookbook for some inspiration here or there but it’s been a long time since I’ve actually cooked from a cookbook. Lately, I’ve had quite a few cookbooks that have showed up on my doorstep and literally have not left my kitchen.

Not only is Elizabeth one of my fav bloggers/food photographers, her cookbook is preeeetty awesome. Her book covers the benefits of cooking with coconut oil and other coconut products and since I’m a self-proclaimed coconut fiend, I couldn’t be happier. Besides the slew of gorgeous desserts that I’ve had my eye on, one of my favorite sections of her book has been the section on sides/veggies. I’m notoriously boring when it comes to preparing my sides but I’ve been obsessed with her hasselback sweet potatoes. I know – not something totally revolutionary but it’s is so so very delicious.

Well Fed has been one of my favorite cookbooks and was a huge part of my cooking when I first tried out Paleo. Well, Well Fed 2 is even better than the original. I mean, there is an entire section on burgers, sausages, and meatballs! It’s like she knows me. LOVE. As usual, Melissa has tons of recipes that are so flavorful and interesting, it’s hard to imagine getting bored. I love that she uses tons of spices and exotic flavors because that is the type of food I absolutely love. The instructions are great, and I especially love all of the notes on variations and how you can change up the recipes so that you are never bored.

We’ve had this book forever and it’s really NOT a cookbook but, it deserves some mention. Anytime I’m totally lacking inspiration or looking for unique flavor combinations, this is the book I turn to. It’s got hundreds and hundreds of flavor combination ideas – you literally cannot get bored with this book in your collection. A definite must-own for anyone who loves to cook!
