So I know I’m super late to the whole avocado pudding thing – but better late than never right?
This has been my go-to nighttime snack on days where I’m absolutely starving aka days I squat & days after I squat aka all the time. It’s got enough chocolatey flavor to satisfy my sweet tooth, a good dose of protein, and tons of healthy fats to keep me full and quiet my stomach.
Bonus: Put in the fridge for a few hours and you have the most insanely delicious fudge/thick frosting chocolatey snack. Seriously. AMAZING.
Chocolate Avocado Protein Pudding
Ingredients
- 1/2 avocado, mashed until very smooth
- 4 tablespoons coconut milk (you may not need all 4)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
Directions
| 1. | Mash avocado in a bowl until very, very smooth. Add cocoa powder and protein powder (if you don't want to use protein powder, simply add another tablespoon or two of cocoa powder & some of your favorite liquid sweetener) |
| 2. | Add coconut milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach a very creamy consistency. It may take more or less than 4 tablespoons depending on your ingredients. |

I have been wanting to try a chocolate avocado pudding, but I’m nervous that it will take on more of an avocado flavor than a chocolate flavor. I can’t imagine having that in a “dessert”. What are your thoughts on the true taste of these puddings even if you weren’t a huge avocado lover?
I think they taste VERY chocolatey and not really avocado-esque plus it’s quite sweet, depending on the sweetness of the protein powder. You can always add a little extra sweetener to make it sweeter.
Thanks for responding! I will have to give it a try, then.

Amazing! And, I love how simple it is. I usually use the last two ingredients to make mine but I love the addition of avocado in there
Oh…I add PB2 sometimes too
YUM!
I would love to try this! My biggest weakness is chocolate so I feel like this would remove the guilt when I have to give in to a craving
Yum!
I’m a big chocolate fan too & it totally satisfies my craving while packing in some good protein and fat!
OMG so so so healthy
The most delicious combination of healthy fat!
avocados are the best, we made an avocado protein pudding last year sometime and really enjoyed it, love the idea of adding in cocoa
YUM. I need to make this right now!
This looks soooo good, Gabby!
Whaaaa? I am behind on my blog posts. I must make this. Two of my very very favorite things!
Any suggestions for protein powders that taste good in this? Some obviously taste better than others.
Thanks!
I like Progenex in the Belgian Chocolate flavor but any chocolate protein powder that you like would be fine!
