I put blood oranges in your salsa. Thank me later.

Blood oranges are by far my favorite winter citrus because of their delicious flavor and GORGEOUS colors. I can’t help it – pretty fruit makes me happy. Add jalapeno and cilantro (two of my favorite things) and well, it’s just magic.
P.S. I finished my Whole30 and will have a recap post up soon!
Blood Orange Salsa
| Serves | 2-4 |
| Prep time | 5 minutes |
| Cook time | 5 minutes |
| Total time | 10 minutes |
Ingredients
- 4 blood oranges, segmented
- 1/2 jalapeno, very finely diced (you can add more of less depending on your heat preference)
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
- 3 medium sized green onions, sliced into small rounds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- salt, to taste
Directions
| 1. | You can segment your blood orange (there are some great tutorials online!) or you can simply diced into medium-sized chunks. I prefer it segmented but that's just me. |
| 2. | Combine all ingredients in a bowl or jar and gently stream in olive oil until all ingredients are moistened but not super oily. It probably shouldn't take more than 2 tablespoons. Season with salt and stir to combine. |
| 3. | Eat on EVERYTHING. |

This is such a great idea for salsa during the winter months. I love it! Great photos as well Gabby!
Hope you are doing well — I’m excited to read your whole30 recap.
Thanks Brittany! I finished up my Whole30 (yay wine!) & will probably have a post up on Friday or Monday!
Oh my gosh, that looks SO good, Gabby!
Thanks Liz!
I don’t get the whole fruit salsa thing.. sorry.. but your pics look beautiful, so I’d at least try it
Where do you even find blood oranges?
Thanks! Yeah, I get that – I’m usually SO not a fruit salsa person (seriously, I hate it most times) but citrus fruits are surprisingly yummy and slowly converting me! I found blood oranges in my local grocery store (I’m sure Whole Foods has them) – they’re in season right now so they shouldn’t be too tough to find.
