Oven Cooked Bacon

I like bacon. Alot. I mean, it’s BACON. It’s smokey, salty goodness.

It should be no surprise that we go through a lot of bacon in our house – after all, my husband is a chef that has a tattoo dedicated to bacon. That’s love right there.

Every once and awhile my husband gets a little crazy and makes candied bacon (with brown sugar & maple syrup) that is seriously the best stuff on Earth. He swears that any type oven cooked bacon (candied or not) is the best and well, I agree.

Oven cooked bacon is super easy, takes only a few minutes, and produces the best chewy yet slightly crispy bacon. If you’ve never tried it – DO IT! I promise you won’t regret it – I mean, either way, you’ve got bacon.

Oven Cooked Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 packet bacon (get the good stuff!)

Note

Feel free to add herbs, maple syrup (doooo it!), or other flavorings to the bacon before you bake it. YUM!

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Line up bacon slices so they do not touch. Bake for 15-20 minutes until gloriously crispy.
3. Carefully remove from baking sheet and drain on paper towel lined plate. You can save the bacon grease in a jar or cup and use it to fry up eggs later (highly recommend).

*edited to add: If you like super crispy bacon, place bacon on a rack and then place rack on baking sheet.

  1. I also like to cook my bacon in the oven, but I do it a little different. I put the bacon in the cold oven and heat it to 450*. When the oven has finished heating up, the bacon is done.

I love that oven cooked bacon doesn’t leave a hugely greasy smell in my house.

  2. Hahaha I love your husbands tattoo ;) I might be a vegetarian, but even I can agree that bacon smells amazing!

  7. I’M ALL ABOUT THE BACON. Every. stinkin. morning. My bacon love would never go as far as a tattoo (I think) but your husband rocks.
