WIAW: Moving, Food, & Fitness

We are finally all moved in and are beginning to get settled. Also, if never see spackle again it will be too soon.

The move was long and tiring so I’m glad it’s over!

Since this week has been all sorts of crazy, here is a peek at my life the past few days:

Lots of CrossFit: I’m finished with my Fundamentals classes and just have to test on Sunday

This workout killed me but was great.
Thrusters (65#) AMRAP 5 min (I did 22)

Before the WOD, We found our 1 rep max for front squat – I got up to 125# which is kind of insane. I never front squat and didn’t think I could move something very heavy but my coach kept adding weight and I kept going straight for a new PR. Suffice to say my legs were jello and I had lovely barbell hickeys.

Chipotle moving fuel: burrito bowl with no rice, no beans, extra chicken, veggies, and guacamole.

First meal in the new kitchen: open faced BLTs on grain free almond meal biscuits (they need tweaking but almost there).

I have finally reached my goal of doing a handstand – and now I’m obsessed. Gotta love inversions!

All of these things grow in my backyard: figs (almost ready), pears (still have a bit), and blackberries (amazing).

Some days you just need chocolate. I think I need more of this ASAP – it is my birthday week after all

I’m hoping to have a yummy recipe for you all next week – after I get over my birthday cake hangover, obviously.

  1. I love that handstand pic, congratulations! Chilies & Cherries sound gooood…and what’s in your burrito bowl if no rice/beans? Was it homemade? Happy WIAW!

Thanks! The burrito bowl was from Chipotle & just has chicken, roasted veggies, guacamole & salsa. It is similar to a salad but no lettuce (I can’t do lettuce since it doesn’t agree with my stomach).

  2. OMGosh way to go on that handstand. Lots of envy. AND yum, your food looks amazing

  3. Yay! Nice work on the handstand! Once you get them they’re so much easier!

  4. Inversions scare the crap out of me. I guess I just need to practice more at home because when I’m in class, I freak out and then I’m just the girl sitting there on the floor while everyone else is upside down. Panic mode, seriously!

    Yay birthdays!

      Thanks!

It took me a long time to get comfortable with inversions – I was always afraid I was going to smack my head on the wall! Practicing at home makes it much easier though!

  5. Best of luck on your CrossFit test tomorrow. I’m a little behind since I overslept on Monday, but I did the fundamentals 3 class yesterday and my arms are killing me this morning. So many pull-ups!!!

    I love headstands too!

Thanks! I know the pull ups and push ups will kill me tomorrow but oh well. My arms hurt so much after fundamentals 3 – I did 47 pull ups during the workout and who knows how many before that!

  6. I want some of those figs and blackberries please.

And the ability to do a handstand.
    [You are amazing.]

You’re too funny Sarah and if you get down to Richmond and I still have figs, you bet you’re getting some!
